Attention Management
Action Lab
(for the whole team)
Stop Fighting Distractions.
Start Harnessing Your Attention.
Your team is checking email or other communications platforms constantly. They’re busy all day, but projects are not moving forward as you think they should, and you hear often that “there just isn’t enough time.” Sound familiar?
The problem isn’t that there’s not enough time. It’s that your team is too distracted. The answer to a distraction problem isn’t a “time management” solution. The solution is attention management.
Here’s what’s really happening: Your brain can only hold one conscious thought at a time, but modern work seems to demand constant task-switching. Studies show this creates 44% more mistakes and leaves your team drained and disengaged. They’re using their precious brainpower to manage distractions instead of executing on the qualities you hired them for in the first place.
The cost is brutal: The team feels overwhelmed despite working hard. Their creativity and your bottom line suffer. Fuses are short, and everyone is physically present but mentally scattered, missing out on both professional breakthroughs and personal moments that matter.
There’s a better way. Maura Thomas, the leading authority on attention management, will show your team how to reclaim control of your most valuable resource: your attention. Through the Attention Management Action Lab, your team will learn practical strategies that create immediate impact. This isn’t another system to manage, but a fundamental shift in how you work.
The result? Undistracted thinking time. Clear priorities. Work that energizes instead of drains your team. And finally, the ability to be fully present for what matters most, both at work and at home.
It’s time for your team to stop reacting to their day and start designing it.
Everyone Wants to Work Here Action Lab
(for the leadership team)
Stop Creating Burnout. Start Building the
Workplace Everyone Craves.
Your team feels busy all day but accomplishes too few significant results. They’re checking emails at dinner, responding to messages during their kids’ soccer games, and losing sleep over work stress. Despite hiring brilliant people for their brainpower, you’ve accidentally created a culture of urgency that’s killing productivity.
Here’s what’s really happening: Your leadership team may be unknowingly fostering an “always-on” environment where excessive communication—including after-hours—becomes the norm. Employees feel pressured to be always available. Overflowing inboxes and constant task-switching leads your team members to make far more mistakes. You’re paying for innovation and creativity but you’re getting scattered, reactive work instead.
The cost is brutal: Your top talent is burning out. You’re in danger of losing good employees who want work-life balance, and you may have trouble attracting the best candidates. The financial impact is real—distracted teams miss deadlines, make costly errors, and can’t deliver the breakthrough results you’re after.
There’s a better way. Through the “Everyone Wants to Work Here” Action Lab, Maura Thomas will help your leadership team transform your workplace culture from the inside out. You’ll learn to set clear expectations around availability and deep work, creating an environment where people can do their best thinking.
The result? Teams that end their days feeling satisfied and energized instead of drained. Employees who fall in love with their work again. A workplace culture that attracts top talent and drives real results.
Stop managing burnout. Start unleashing your team’s true potential.
Why I Created the Action Labs
I created Action Labs with two general organizational needs in mind.
First, as a low-investment professional development opportunity for smaller organizations and teams, and others with very small budgets, like non-profits. It’s a great way for these organizations to benefit from learning the Empowered Productivity System, empowering the team to have more productive and satisfying work days, and transforming the culture of the organization from urgent and distracted to thoughtful, efficient, and productive.
For companies with more comprehensive training needs and budgets, an Action Lab can serve as an introductory session. It’s a great way to generate excitement and buy-in across the organization for more extensive and transformative professional development engagements.

How The Action Labs Work

An Empowered Productivity Action Lab is for you if…
- You’re ready to test the waters with a new approach to productivity. This is the perfect first step before investing in a more comprehensive, transformative Empowered Productivity training initiative.
- You’ve known for a while there was a problem but you haven’t had time to go looking for a solution.
- You believe culture matters (or you’re open to being convinced) and recognize that individual solutions hit a wall without organizational support.
- You believe in professional development and are willing to make an investment in your team, even if you don’t have a big training budget.
- You’re committed to improvement and have a growth mindset—the best results come from leaders who challenge ideas and dig deep during our discussion.
- You’re open to the possibility that traditional time management isn’t the answer to your team’s productivity struggles.
It’s not for you if…
- You’re not willing to model new behaviors yourself. Leaders who expect teams to change while they stay the same see poor results.
- You believe constant availability equals commitment. If you insist team members always be accessible despite the burnout cost, this isn’t for you.
- You think faster responses are always better than thoughtful ones. This approach prioritizes quality thinking over reactive speed.
- You operate on “more hours = more results”. If you believe your team needs to be available around the clock to accomplish their best work, we’re not aligned.
- You want quick fixes without culture change. The Action Labs require an openness to rethinking how your team or organization operates.
